Due to Cox's solid connection and Digital Phone Service, I've been able to do now 75% of my work at home. Have yet to really be down due a Cox problem. The HSI pretty much gives me a static ip so VPN is a snap. I did have another outlet installed for another TV connection so HSI and TV don't have to share. I have two computers and a laptop on my wireless network. I see about 12/3 on the direct connection on my PCs and 4/1 on my laptop (D-Link needs a booster). Luckily, the installer didn't charge for the new outlet since I have the maintenance plan. He was extremely helpful even calling in to get me a static ip. He even configured the router and made sure the wireless connection is okay. Maybe it was because I'm cute? Anyway, he also got my two printers connected to the wireless network.

Solid connection. New Computer (Intel Dual 2.8 Ghrz with 1 gig Cache, 4 gigs of ram, a ATI Radeon x1300 256 meg video card, 250 gig HD, DVD/CD RW with Lightscribe, and an external 500 gig WD HD. XP Pro with MCE. I really have no idea what all that means but it is a fast computer. Desperate Housewives the Game plays extremely well, which is heavy graphics intensive game. Teri Hatcher looks like Teri Hatcher as does Eva Longoria.
Called Tech on new PC and their systems were down but the Tech set-up it perfectly (wanted to be able to connect direct to modem not just router). Not sure how, but I got a static IP so logging into VPN is nice. It has enabled me to cut my office hours by 50%. Thanks Cox Guy!
----------- Free modem. No contract. No complaints. Wireless is fine. No static IP but my router seems to keep the same one. Tech support had no problem telling me how to set-up the D-Link router with encryption.

After 1-year no problems with speed, etc.
Added Digital Phone on 12-20-06. Number ported BEFORE they installed which is smart in my opinion. Takes about a week (7-10 days). I have dial-up so tried it and got 53k everytime I connected (use as back-up when I travel). Set-up took about an hour. Tech made sure everything worked with my modem (make sure it didn't affect it he said--sometimes they change out modem).
HSI - $44.95 with Digital Phone and Cable (get $10 off it too).
I am getting the "powerboost" at times getting sometimes 40-60 megs down for a few minutes then slows to down to normal speeds on large files (700 mbs). Get 12/1 but actually get 20/3 consistent.
