Please note: 30 days from order to success includes the 30 day notification time to cancel with Bell Sympatico. This will vary.

After being a loyal customer of Bell Sympatico's with all services (mobile, home phone, internet, tv). Being on Sympatico with a grandfathered unlimited usage plan, I became utterly frustrated with Bell changing/removing it after a minor change to my account. Being with them 7+ years, the last few years I started to grow an passionate dislike (hatred?) for them as any change or inquiry would be met with a sales pitch and/or incorrect modification to my account, requiring me to call back (on average of 3 times) to finally correct any issue. Lets not even talk about Sympatico's throttling and caps, hard to understand reps/technicians, and blatant lie to your face customer service reps who modify your account without permission (perhaps they were rogue reps/techs? I disagree, check the Bell forums).

So, I said enough was enough, I'm fed up with their horrible (for lack of finding an even worse word to use) I cancelled, gave 30 days notice. On my last day, I called to make sure it was being cancelled properly and provided the rep with my cancellation number, they assured me it was, but then she continued to try to sell me more services to my home phone line!! I made it sure that she understood that I DO NOT want any changes to my account. When I arrived home that day, I checked my contact email they had on file, and received an email thanking me for my conversation and providing me information on my newly acquired service for my phone line. Needless to say, I was utterly upset. I will be shortly cancelling the remaining of my services, so that they can continue to abuse their other customers. Goodbye automated-Emily, may your other naive abused-customers continue to press your buttons, I certainly won't.

If you think this is biased, take a look at how other customers of theirs get treated in the Bell Sympatico forum, numbers do not lie, and though SympaticoDirect's technicians are truly outstanding, this is exception to the rule.

I've read numerous replies to take any problems to the top, Kevin Crull, but should a customer need to do so regularly? Good riddance to their customer-last "I don't give a damn" mentality. Sell your crap to someone who cares.

Upon doing research, I stumbled onto this website, furthering my information gathering, I read TekSavvy being a smaller customer focused company that just sounded too good to be true. Reading a bit more, they offered a premium (200GB) and truly unlimited uncapped/unthrottled plan. So I took a deep breath, and took the plunge and gave them a call.

On the day I gave 30 day notice to Bell, I called TekSavvy. Subscribing couldn't have been more simple, on top of that, if you subscribe for a year, you are entitled to a discount (for me, on the unlimited plan, it was $3 per month). After reading truly remarkable reviews, I took the risk and signed up for a year.

My pppoe and pop account was set up within an hour (I didn't check sooner, it could have been done before that!).

I had to make a minor adjustment to the account, and their team followed up on the issue very fast.

I ordered the 5M package, and have not experienced any speed decreases at all (and didn't expect to!)

I purchased a SpeedTouch 516v6 DSL modem and have it bridged to my Linksys WRT54GS router (both local store bought).

They are ontario based (Chatham), and I had no communication problems with them at all on the phone. =)

I'm also saving roughly $10 / month for a truely unmolested service.

My only concern on the cutover day was that Bell would screw me over one last time by pulling my line after everything was said and done (this has happened to some users before), but everything is so far so good.

I'm writing this after a few days of being with them, and the transition from Bell to TekSavvy was smooth as silk (and my blood pressure was miraculously lower!!)

I'm writing this review to thank the TekSavvy team, and to tell them I love them very dearly, I feel like an abused customer that has finally found a loving home. (yes, being abused so many years by Bell, really makes such a simple thing pretty emotional! haha)

Thank you TekSavvy, please don't ever change.

    Sincerely,
    John.

    Update : March 13/08.

Well, it's been almost a month since severing my ties with Bell Sympatico and joining TekSavvy's customer base and I've had no problems whatsoever (as I expected). Not only that, my blood pressure has miraculously lowered (Could it be because I no longer have to deal with Bell's front line "reps", their poor service/deception?). Keep up the great service TS! Thank you for honesty and integrity.

I've moved over my sister as well (from Bell, it's my way of saying thank you for your superior customer service Bell), and will be hopefully be swaying my brother soon as well.
