    My Other Reviews·Comcast
I was happy with everything about Fios for a time - good value for the money (I got package deal for $100 plus boxes). As time has gone on, there have been more outages. Turned on TV tonight and it was locked up and displaying an error code. I tried usual unplugging box, to no avail. Called tech support and they are clueless - reading off script. The guy said they didn't know what the error codes meant that the box displayed. After a half hour, he said he'd have to send out a technician. Some time later I tried unplugging again and it worked this time.

Recently got analog to digital boxes for other TV's in house that don't need all the channels. They were unable to activate boxes, and said it would be done and I could be called back in 23 hours. Of course its not done yet, and no call back after 28 hours.

I've seen write ups here of service getting poorer. That is beginning to be my experience - they've grown too fast and their tech support doesn't know what they are doing. Probably better off to insist on a tech coming to your house from the beginning rather than try all the standard tricks that phone support wants you to go through.

Updated Tuesday, 2/26: No technician came or called on Monday as promised. I was going to have them get the other 2 digital converter boxes working, but no luck. I've emailed them, but no response yet.

Called twice more, several days apart. Finally got someone who fixed the problem and all boxes work. Still not happy to have to get these converts just for basic channels. One TV will not be usable after their conversion as I'm not going to pay to rent their box.

    I know the problem

The coax splitter that feeds your rooms may be bad. This is why the box is failing and the rest of your boxes are not able to activate. If you get a replacement make sure they don't have a dc pass thru. Good luck!

Also make sure the freq rang on that splitter is 5-1000MHz.

If there is an alternative, dump their service asap.
