If you're looking for HD programming, look no further than Dish Network. My local cable incumbent wanted to charge me >$80 for HD programming...and that was simply local channels + TNTHD and ESPNHD. I get the same plus much more HD programming with Dish Network for less than $50 a month. The picture quality is outstanding. My only complaint is the fact that the service requires a satellite dish outside your home, and a receiver for each TV in the house. Occasionally you'll get foreign people when you call tech support, but I suppose that's a given in today's world.

The only downside to Dish Network is if you want NFL.
DirecTV has the Exclusive on NFL Sunday Ticket.

I'm not a big fan of the NFL, so it wasn't really a selling point for me. Besides, the only team I'm halfway interested in is the Carolina Panthers, and my local stations usually carry those anyway.

So I bet with Dish Network HD, you have Mickey ears on your house. . . a dish on each side of the house. I bet that looks great!

Hey, on the bright side, if anyone complains about you not having football, just grab a football, head outside and kick some field goals between your two dishes!
