For the most part my experience with Bellsouth has been good. The equipment arrived in about five days and I had it up and running the next day.My speeds are generally 1.2mbps + or - .2 down and 225kbps up.I can live with that. The only snafu was the tech-rep who lied to me.I asked him if I could use a router to network my second computer which is in the same room and I was told Bellsouth didn't support networking in my area.I guess he figured I was dumb enough to believe that.Maybe they should leave out the pamphlet included with the installation kit that tries to sell you their netwoking router and place an extra monthly charge on your bill.If there was another service available in my area I would take my business somewhere else for that shenanigan but for now I'm stuck.I have had some other minor issues that needed tech support and the reps were polite and knowledgeable without long waits on the phone.

Update May 10,2004. Upgraded to exterme package. Their's still 20% loss because of pppoe overhead when it works a full capacity which hasn't been often. Why can't BS compensate fort the loss so people can get the 3MB they're paying for. They are also blocking SMTP port 25 on any mailservers but their own which makes my domain e-mail addys useless.I called and raised hell to no avail. Why should I have ports blocked because idiots on the web can't secure their machines. I now have alternatives that I'm looking at and will probably bid BS adios soon.

Well here it is 2009 and BS is now AT&T. The BS service was better here in Orlando but did suffer after AT&T took over. They finally offered naked DSL so I said goodby to the landline. Had about 3 months of off and on issues in 2008 which noone seem to able to solve. 4 AT&T reps and 3 contractors couldn't keep me in sync. They finally figured out it was the node down the block and since they fixed it all has been well except for the time a car crashed in to it. Speeds are now as advertised and I'm content. I checked on their bundle since I have AT&T wireless also. Would have cost me more. So, all in all, all is well in AT&T land
