1-800-567-6789, navigate through the voice system to option 3 to change service, and go from there. The voice prompt system will eventually get you to a live person if you respond "Agent" to the voice prompts.
Another way is to reach the DSL Retention Department at 866-270-8378. A real person answers the line during normal business hours East Coast time, at least the time I tried it. I was informed that number was for NJ, DE and PA, and was given the number for the similar department for the MA and RI area at 508-502-9299 (not a toll-free number).
Obviously they are the Retention Department, and will give you an opportunity to get something made right to keep you as a subscriber, but if you are firm in your decision to cancel, state that that's what you want. Be nice, but be firm.
