This can't be right. Is there really no way to attach a photo to a text or email? I know how to email ot text from the photo itself but what about when I want to attach to an email I am replying to? Someone please tell me I'm blind and can't see it. Apple could not have missed something so simple as this.

[Snow] Remote Desktop - PC --> Mac

Hi All..
A new convert to Mac. Started using the Mac book Pro since last week and loving it. Learning something new everyday. I must say it feels far more stable than PC, I've been a windows users since Windows 3.1/NT3.5 days.

I have the Mac book Pro at home replacing my Windows laptop. I regularly connect to my home laptop for personal work and was using Windows remote desktop from work to connect to my home windows laptop.

The question is "How do I connect/control a Mac remotely from a PC?" I can Remote desktop into a Mac or windows from Mac but I need to do it the other way round.

Your guidance is much appreciated.

[Beginner] Question about Macs & certain server info

Folks, some of us who use AT&T dsl have been wrestling with server issues for several years. At first, AT&T tried to blame it on everyone's email program, but not only were pc users experiencing problems retrieving their emails, but Mac users were also. After much wrangling, it was admitted that AT&T [in other words yahoo] servers were the problem and it was supposedly fixed. Nevertheless, the problem keeps showing up.

Here are two links to check out that may help explain this much better than I can:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23233155-excuse-the-expression-its-that-time-of-the-month-again

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23304639-Its-BAAAACK

Anyway, we found that if we change our Apple Mail to a currently working IP POP3 server, instead of using the generic "pop.att.yahoo.com" addy, that all is well for a long while until they change the server. One of the guys trying to help us out of this headache, d_l, said to "edit our hosts file and add the following line to it: 67.195.135.148 pop.att.yahoo.com" but he said Macs can't do this redirect address look ups.

Can Mac users ping for a server addy using Network Utility?

Does the Mac have anything like that to easily re-direct address look ups? Basically the host file acts as a local DNS server and is checked first before the online DNS server is queried, right?

I'm sorry if this post isn't making a whole lot of sense, but this topic is way over my head. I'm just trying to find a solution for AT&T Mac users since AT&T/yahoo doesn't seem to care whether or not their customers can retrieve their mail using Apple Mail.

Thanks for your help.
Renee

[SU] Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.6.2

http://www.macrumors.com/2009/11/09/apple-releases-mac-os-x-10-6-2/
Apple today released Mac OS X 10.6.2, the second maintenance update for Snow Leopard, via Software Update. The update brings several bug fixes, reportedly including one for a serious issue involving Guest accounts that has caused some users to lose all data from their primary user accounts.

The 10.6.2 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes for:

- an issue that might cause your system to logout unexpectedly
- a graphics distortion in Safari Top Sites
- Spotlight search results not showing Exchange contacts
- a problem that prevented authenticating as an administrative user
- issues when using NTFS and WebDAV file servers
- the reliability of menu extras
- an issue with the 4-finger swipe gesture
- an issue that causes Mail to quit unexpectedly when setting up an Exchange server
- Address Book becoming unresponsive when editing
- a problem adding images to contacts in Address Book
- an issue that prevented opening files downloaded from the Internet
- Safari plug-in reliability
- general reliability improvements for iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, and iDisk
- an issue that caused data to be deleted when using a guest account

For detailed information on this update, please visit this website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3874.
For information on the security content of this update, please visit: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222.
The most recent developer build of OS X 10.6.2, Build 10C540, was seeded last week Wednesday. Rumors have pointed to the removal of support for Intel Atom processors in 10.6.2, creating issues for netbook users who have modified their devices to run OS X and are looking to upgrade their software.

Apple hardware/software "strength and stability"

Hi everyone.
Can someone please explain to me (an owner of 3 macs myself) how if the marriage of Apples Hardware (which is still generic inside) with their operating system is their MAIN strength, then why are there so many problems still?? I mean seriously, after each update, there are about as many problems as Windows has (I use both). I just don't get it??? It's right there in black and white, and the majority of Apple "faithful" just keep stating that this full system integration is what makes Apple systems so much more stable.

I see just as many crashes, KP's and unexplained phenomenon on these forums as well as the Apple forums, as I see in the Windows forums.

I mean come on, can't we be honest?? What gives??
And moderator, don't delete this just because I'm asking a question. I have the right to ask a simple question, and see what the community has to say. I'm not attacking ANY brand, just merely asking a question.....

[Snow] Scanner not found

I have a multi function printer, scanner, fax machine.

It has been working great! I never had any issues with any aspect of it.

I don't use the scan function allot (ie:scan to pdf) but use the copy function enough. Though sometimes I need to email scanned PDFs and I tried it recently but got "Scanner not found or connected" I've never had this prior Snow so Since I've upgraded to "Snow" now the scanner function won't work. "Scanner not found or connected"

I've tried multi able things from following HPs own instruction regarding this matter, to reinstalling the drivers and software, with no help.

Since it WAS working pre Snow, I assume this is a Snow issue.

Apple 24" LED Cinema into PC

I just bought a new 24" Cinema display with the hopes of being able to connect it to my new MacBook Pro, and my PC. (not at the same time)

It connects to the MacBook Pro fine, but how would I connect it into the DVI or VGA port on my PC? Is there any converter available out there that does this? The monitor has a MiniDisplayPort connector on the end.

Thanks!
