 iphone appstore speedtest

I'm making a new thread, previous was
»[iPhone] iPhone Speedtest plus GEO-TAGGING, question for Justin

Here is the ".app" and provisioning file for the first version but I'll have an update today or tomorrow.

.app zip:
»/getfile/Ok8/a0715b.zip

Provision file:
Please IM me to get the link to the provision file that includes your UUID. The .app is useless without it.

Feedback is welcome, post here is fine, but I wanna queue this up for appstore approval soon!

It will be free. Despite the Wired article about "rags to riches" developers I think the right thing is to start it off as a free app and only create a premium version if it I can prove it is worth it.

if you want to get a look and haven't done so already please contact me with your iphone or itouch UUID .. see other topic for details on how to get that. I'll get it added to the "provisioning file" when I collect a few more to make it worth posting an update.

Of course if you are not _already_ in the provisioning file then please wait until a new one is posted after you send me your UUID.

Thanks Justin and Moises!

This app is by far the best speed test out there.

Mods..... Is it possible to merge this thread with this? »[iPhone] Beta testing DSLReports.app

Thanks.

update: I'm having trouble keeping up with UUIDs

if your UUID is not already on this list, please send it to me. I'll just show the first bit of each that we know about..

7269bff2fe...
0c7a5736c5...
1e1d1abb5e...
c4bef8fc34...
df8608eca8...
a6f159aa5b...

Lets call the version that a few have seen, version 1.0

Don't bother to install 1.0 now, if you have not already, because version 1.1 is coming soon with a host of fixes and enhancements. I'm hoping by the end of this weekend!

When it is ready, it'll come with the provision file for the above list of UUIDs and any more that I get.

thanks

Oh, it's UDID, not UUID. I had a bitch of a time trying to find my earlier email with that info.

Where is this UDID number located? I looked in my iPhone's about screen and I don't see it.

You need to use this app to get it:

»phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSt···333&mt=8

as stated previously....

Easier way is to just click on "Serial Number:" in the Summary tab of your iPhone in iTunes then command+c to copy it.

Huh. I tried to right click it and got nothing. Didn't think about the keyboard command.

Regular left click, not right click....

I meant the copy part, not the activate UDID part.

I will have an appstore candidate release posted here by the end of this weekend, for those who have given over their ids .. unless we get an unexpected hitch.

I have the following UDIDs.

I have sent instructions on the current release to

Thinkdiff
BBR_InsUW
tango_bob
bobrk
Nemokrad
Gwellin
HiVolt
DoLeMiTe

there are a few more hex codes in the list above for which I couldn't locate the owners. Please IM me to get the same message as the above group got.

There will be a new release in a couple of days as the current release still has some obvious glitches that are easy to fix but our programmer is taking a break.

Thanks, I've installed the App, and it seems to work well to me. Latency of 106ms.

My only suggestion is that it should detect the iPod Touch and only offer the WiFi option.

I have tried the app out and everything seems to be working good so far! Justin, are you the one who is programming this or is someone else doing it for you? Whoever is doing it is doing a good job so far.
