| Cisco VPN Concentrator
We currently have a Cisco 3000 VPN Concentrator at our main location that was originally setup to handle about five VPN tunnels (four client and one going to our co-lo center) and route our LAN and VPN traffic to a co-location center where our database servers reside.
I have never worked with a VPN Concentrator before and I am now forced to remove the concentrator due to it belonging to a vendor that we no longer do business with. Currently, we only have 2 connections, one from a client and the other going to the co-lo center.
My question is this...do I need to replace this device with another concentrator when I only have 2 connections? A few months before I got here, we purchased a Sonicwall appliance...couldn't I just use that to create the VPN tunnel to the co-lo center from our LAN and then setup the client VPN to go straight to the co-lo center? Does this make any sense? I don't see why I need to purchase a brand new concentrator for only two connections... |
