| Qwest 20Mbps Install Question
Hello,
I received my modem today and when I was on the phone the phone was making all sorts of noises. My Qwest 20mbps is set to be installed no later then tomorrow by 5pm. I think they installed it early but the modem box flyer says do not install until the install date.
Do you think its safe for me to install it now? Whats the worse that could happen if Qwest hadn't installed it yet.
Thanks, KPAZ |

| do you have the dsl filter connected between the phone and the wall jack? I am not sure, but try it. Also I don't think it could hurt anything to try to install the modem. try putting a filter on the phone and see if the noises go away, then try installing the modem, and reply back with results |

@qwest.net | reply to KPAZ Put in the filters and give it a try can not hurt to try.
May have the physical cross connect to the DSLAM done; however, the ISP part may not yet be active yet. |

| reply to KPAZ Thanks guys!
Well it didn't work. During the QuickConnect install it said to wait until my activation date. All the lights were solid but I couldn't get the internet to work on my browser.
I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. But on a good note after I installed the filters the phone was crystal clear. |

I was using the DSL Filter Splitter so I could use the DSL line and a phone line but I was getting 12mbps so I removed the splitter and I'm now getting 18mps. Do you guys know of a way to use the phone in this room and the DSL without losing speed?

@qwest.net | It has a phone jack for the DSL, 4 Ethernet ports and 1 power supply jack. |

1 edit | reply to KPAZ Get a phone jack splitter at Radio Shack, Walmart, or just about anywhere. Plug that into the wall first. Plug the DSL modem into one of the jacks on the splitter. Plug the DSL filter into the other. Plug your phone into the DSL filter.
I'm not familiar with the DSL Filter Splitter you mentioned. Is it a filter with two ports, one for the phone and one for the modem? |
