Sorry I meant manufacturer not manufacturing.

I was in the process of editing my post when you replied to say I pre-ordered Win7 Pro from Microsofts site for $99 w/ the ship it to me option when available.

Thanks.

I ordered mine through Amazon with no tax and it will go to my post office box. I tried New Egg but there is a tax and no PO box delivery.

I order 3 Home-Premiums from Amazon and was now debating whether to keep that order, or just pony up the extra dough and get a TechNet subscription which I could use to study MS s/w for work???

I thought about ordering it from Amazon but decided if there was a problem with the disc or the license I would rather deal directly with MS then Amazon & MS.

Figured it was worth the tax and shipping cost which was minimal. I have never had an issue with Amazon yet (fingers crossed) but would hate the first time be a Win 7 issue and having to mess with Amazon return policy.

No po boxes is what keeps me from shopping there.

I went back the the online Microsoft store and canceled the order for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit full version and went and reordered it threw Amazon. I know that Amazon delivers to a PO Box.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon.com

Delivered on the release date (Oct 22nd). Total around $56. Any idea if this is a 64 bit version or not?

Per the MS Win 7 Pre-Order Offer Faq. Page.

quote:
Q. Will I get 32-bit or 64-bit discs?

A. You’ll get both. Windows 7 Home Premium and Professional packaged products include both 32- and 64-bit discs.

When you buy any edition of Windows 7 full or upgrade in the box you get two DVD disc's one is the 32-bit and the other being the 64-bit. It was that way for Windows Vista as well.

I ordered two copies of Home Premium from TigerDirect, and the Bing Cashback will pay for my shipping... not a bad deal, and all you have to do is register and claim the reward.

So will you not be able to do a clean install of 7 with this version? Looks like the upgrade version. Is there some workaround to install it on a clean HD?

I was wondering the same thing Swingerhead. All I can see at that price point is the Upgrade versions. If not, please let me know how I can get my hands on the full version for that price!!

Why is it worth every nickel? Not trying to be smart...just seriously wondering. Have you used it? Do you know it to be any good? Or is it simply that it's not VISTA?

Ok so I'm running Windows 7 RC that was released to the public. If I get the upgrade to WIndows 7 I won't have to do a complete reinstall right?
