| for those that use a water filteration systems,
I started out using the Pur (prtable pitcher/filters) stage ne system 8 yrs ago, filter ife was 2-3 months,(3filters $21.00) then Pur decided to change to a more stylish pitcher & filter stsrem calling it Stage 2 (filter 2-3 months,2 for $21.00) then
rthen approx in febuary this year the filters now have a life expextcy of 1 month at best befor the clog or close themselves down) proce $15.00 for 2,

The length of time depends on the type of filter and the amount of water used:

if so, would you share some info about it,
such as cost,how long filters last, ect

| When I had one at my last house, I had an under-sink filter that was supposed to be good for 6 months. I think the initial outlay was less than $40 and new filters were around $20.
The 'easy use' filters like in pitchers and the one you put on sink faucets aren't worth it IMO. |

| I had an under-sink system in the condo I had in CT 25 years ago. The filters lasted about 3 months and were $25 to replace. Unit cost like $60. It worked well.
The Pur faucet filter works quite well. They switch our chemicals once a year for 6 weeks from chloramine to chlorine to flush the system. Zero odor or taste in the filtered stuff, compared to it being worse than an over-chlorinated swimming pool from the unfiltered taps.

| You need to make sure you get in writing from the vendor the specific source(s) of their water. A lot of places take water from the same public supply as you get, and just filter the hell out of it.
You specifically want to know the filtration process used and resultant mineral content (and whether it's natural or added back in). Too often filtered public supply water has almost no mineral content left, which makes it less healthful than what comes out of your tap.
If it's spring water, do some research on the spring and make sure it's far removed from any type of agricultural or operation that disturbs the surface or could run-off into the aquifer.

I have a filtration system as part of my refrigerator's in-door ice and water dispenser. The filters last 6 months and cost about $30. |

Further, for water delivery from Ice Mountain (The local Nestle bottle brand) 35 gallons (Seven 5gal jugs) costs 42.70 a month. One filter that filters 40 gallons costs 9.80:

Why bother filtering your water? Unless you need low mineral content water.
Municipal tap water is plenty clean!

Second on the one built into my refrigerator. The water that makes the ice cubes goes through the filter also.
It does use a Pur filter and lasts about 6 months.

and thats all the water used per filter,
