years GONE from movie channels' information

within the last two or three days, i have noticed to my chagrin that when watching live movie versions on hbo, cinemax, showtime etc., i can no longer see each movie's year of release when i click to read information about the movie. (the video on demand versions DO still have movies' dates of release in information.) the movie channels' information pages have also started showing cryptic characters like ** or +. perhaps this has to do with some software being updated, but i really hope the YEARS when movies were released can be restored asap (and the current omission is not some kind of deliberate programming decision). when i consider watching a movie, one thing i want to know is the year it came out. this not only helps me know whether i'm more or less likely to be interested in the movie, i also enjoy thinking about things that were going on in my (or my family's) life (lives) during the year when the movie came. is anyone else seeing this undesirable change? can anything be done to fix it?

I'm having the same difficulty, its especially irratating when trying to record movies that have multiple re-makes, especially since the actors aren't listed either.

The Web remote also does not show the year info in the description.

Very annoying and hope they update their database.

Try a hard reboot of the STB's, it always seems to fix the guide information for me because it re-downloads it.

thanks for the suggestion. on a bedroom set top box, i mashed the power button until it power cycled (with multi-colors flashing on unit). after the picture eventually came back, the year information was still "not" there

another friend in dallas, like a poster above from california, has reported the same issue so if there is any harder kind of re-set, i'm not going to bother for now. i'll hope and pray this is just some sort of software glitch and at&t's gurus will get it corrected before it gets too irritating!

It doesn't always work with a reset (power cycling the STB), you have to actually unplug it for about 10-15 seconds.

I'm getting the same issue, no year info for most programming. Tried a power cycle (left it unplugged for a minute last night, when I was having a separate issue), and the year info still wasn't present. I'm guessing it's a temporary glitch related to the Phase 2 rollout, hopefully will be resolved soon!

pc319, thanks again for suggestion. i disconnected power, counted 30 mississippis, the reconnected power. after all the restart stuff cleared out and picture came back, issue remains: no years information (and garbled ** etc.) in live movies' information

I noticed this also with the latest update. I kinda do the same thing. It's like a triva kind of thing. Where's the year/first showing dates go? Dang!

Same problem here after the update. No year of release listed for movies. Daily and weekly programs do have date first aired listed. I haven't done a reboot of STB yet. Will try that tomorrow.

Was the "year" info ever available on the U-Verse online (web) Guide? If it was, it isn't any more and rebooting your set top boxes until the cows come home isn't going to fix that.

dunno. in any event, i never expected resetting set top boxes to fix anything. i think at&t's gurus have to correct the problem instead and i wish someone inside would own up to the problem and advise they're working on a fix

I don't have the update for THDVR yet in the Cleveland area so it still shows the year information. We'll see what happens after the update, but it does look like everyone who received the update is having problems with some guide information

The year for movies are back. As of today 7/2. The year is now before the description of the movie. You won't even need to press info to see it in the guide.

The original air date is also where it used to be.

BTW I got the update on 7/1.

It seems they also added the year to the description on the Remote DVR Access via the web; now if they would add the actors....
