1 edit | DSLReports can't ping me!
I have a Dl-615 router and the settings were already properly configured:

I checked Zone Alarm Pro and correctly configured the settings:

What settings am I missing? I wanted to do a line test, when I found out I wasn't pingable.
Edit: I have five computers here; four of them have software firewalls and the other has zero security software.

Which modem do you have? |

wayjac Premium,MVM join:2001-12-22 Indy | If the modem is blocking the ping the router cannot respond to the ping.
If you put the modem in bridge mode that will make the router pingable.
This is very strange the motorola blocks pings and lets everything else pass?? |

marti Color outside the lines Premium,MVM join:2001-12-14 Houston, TX clubs: | Are you saying the modem is stopping the pings and not the router? I have no idea what "bridge mode" means. Well, I have heard the term, but don't know how to set it up. -- Team Discovery |

wayjac Premium,MVM join:2001-12-22 Indy | Yes I think the modem is dropping/discarding the icmp ping and the pings are never allowed to reach the router |

marti Color outside the lines Premium,MVM join:2001-12-14 Houston, TX clubs: | That is very strange! There are no settings on the modem to allow pings, so now what? -- Team Discovery |

Not sure what router settings you want, but the only thing I changed recently was these (to try to solve my loss of connectivity problem).

Secondary DNS Server : 68.94.157.1
I would guess that the rest of it is probably the default settings. -- Team Discovery |

3 edits | It looks like you have the router's WAN connection type set to Dynamic IP(DHCP).
If you look at you router's GUI,under the Setup Tab,and click on Manual Internet Connection Setup,it should say.
Edit: Status Tab shows WAN and LAN IP addresses -- Got a Clark,Crown,Drexel forklift and need technical advice? Ask me about it. |

| You are going to need to make your modem bridge the DSL connection to your router instead of nating it, Then set your router to login to the pppoe. I'm not sure how to on that modem but hopefully someone here knows. -- AMD Phenom II x3 720 BE @ 3.5Ghz(OC) | 4Gb Memory @ 1600mhz | Sapphire ATI HD4870 1GB 800mhz/1000mhz(OC) | 2x500GB HDD's Raid 0 | Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Build 7100 |

| reply to marti At this point, I am not sure what to do, as I seem to be getting too much advise! It's getting to close to 11:00 PM here, and I'm not going to start messing with settings this late at night. I will start working on this again tomorrow.
thanks for all the inputs -- Team Discovery |
