| 25/15 is 25/25?...
--I posted before in the 25/15 forum but no replies so I'll try my luck with a main post...
So a verizon sales person was at my front door about 15minutes ago. He said in 3 weeks that my block is going to be upgrade that if I were to upgrade the 25/15 from my 20/20 that I should see 25/25 no problem with the upgraded hardware on the 25/15 plan. Anyone work in Verizon can tell me he is BS-ing and trying to make a sale or telling me the truth?
Also I asked him about customers on the 25/15 are seeing 25/25 results will they fix that he said no because basically stating oh the hardware can support. BS or NO? |

1 edit | He is not BSing you. Many here already have the 25Mbps/15Mbps package and see 25Mbps/25Mbps. You should be able to order that now. But yes, the hardware can handle the higher speeds. -- It's all fun and games in a Team Fortress 2 battle until your sentry gun is sapped by the Spycrab! |

There is already one report of a person on 35/20 who was seeing 35/30-35 and is now seeing their advertised rate (35/20). Still waiting to see if they have run enough tests to confirm for certain, though. -- He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have. -Socrates |

I would rather have had them provision as straight up 25/15 without this fluff crap if they are just going to take it away. I bit the bullet because by bundling I can save some money. But all things being equal, I'd rather have 20/20 than 25/15. -- He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have. -Socrates |

| reply to dumbfound Yeah. I've been keeping up with the forums lately and I asked the salesperson if they were going to take the extra 10meg upload he said "why would we?" and continue to say the network is allowing you to have it why would we take it... which was somewhat baffling to me since whats the points of the 25/25 tier? |

My son was just upgraded to 15/5 today. Just had a chance to test it, and it showed 25.5/4.9. My 20/5, in the same CO, always tests 4.5 to 4.6 on the up side, so his 5 up is better than mine ever was.
We're all BPON, built out in 05 - 06. I'm wondering if your level of "fluff" has anything to do with whether you're B or G PON. |

| reply to dumbfound I recently upgraded from 20/5 to 25/15 (I told myself I wouldn't, but you know what they say about resolutions), and while I'm not getting 25/25, I am getting faster than promised upload speeds:

I tried a couple of servers, that's the best I've seen. The physically closest server in Los Angeles is giving me the worst numbers. |

1 edit | reply to dumbfound I live in Apollo Beach FL and I get the best speeds from the Corpus Christi TX test server. I was getting this speed from Atlanta, DC and Austin servers last week but that seems to have stopped as of today for some reason. |

| reply to dumbfound It seems Speedtest.net servers are becoming overloaded on their upload testing from all of us "fluffy" FiOS users pounding them. I think that's why upload speeds seem to be going all over now. I tested at speedtest.net just now and got 10Mbps up, then went straight to a web100 speed test, and got 24.5Mbps up. (this on a really fluffy 15/5 tier =p )
The speed tests aren't being reliable with our new speeds IMO. |

| I've noticed that I get better results when using the Verizon speed test site (approx. 26/26 instead of 25/15) - I'm on the 25/15 plan:
»www2.verizon.net/micro/speedtest/java/
Anyone else notice this? |

| reply to dumbfound My understanding is VZ wanted to do 25/25 and 35/35 but legal got involved and, for some reason, said that most up-loaders would not see the full speeds and that is was best to advertise the lower upload. So the company did advertise the lower speeds but is provisioning at the higher. |
