Got my information from there:

I know I had this question and I can imagine others did too.

Lindenhurst, NY | there doesnt seem to be a discount on win 7 ultimate.
unfortunately, i have vista ultimate installed and cannot upgrade to win 7 professional, i can only do a clean install.

Bronx, NY | it would be preferable to do a clean install. but it's understandable if you want to do an upgrade and want to take advantage of that option since it exists. |

| for me, i have too many custom tweaks, applications, settings, various external DLL, OCX files that are manually registered, saved form data/cookies and among other things that would take a large amount of prohibitive time to set up again doing a clean install.
