Redsaturn join:2009-07-03 Brooklyn, NY	Wireless Help I'm running Windows Vista and using a Nvidia Nforce Networking Controller. I seem to have an annoying problem where my connection runs perfectly and smoothly for extended periods but drops out with any seemingly slight disturbance, requiring a full computer RESTART just to get the net back on. I'm hopeful there is just some incorrect setting lurking somewhere cuz me and the wireless are good friends and I'd hate to do away with it as its currently allowing me to post on this forum for assitance o.O. A happy but troubled guy in need off assistance.

A happy but troubled guy in need off assistance. Your using onboard NIC correct? Have you downloaded and updated the drivers for it. Any overclocking the CPU or RAM on the system? To fix the problem under Vista. Uninstalled the card then rescanned for hardware to let windows pick up the driver automatically, that way it uses the driver it likes best. or Don't normally recommend this but its the only thing i can think of ATM, If you uninstall the card via device manager, goto your driver folder: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers cut (not copy) the driver file to your desktop or somewhere else for safe keeping, its file name starts with nvefd and then a system name, for example nvefdxp.sys for xp, cant remember what the vista one has on the end as iv deleted the driver Then restart your computer, and hopefully it picks up the network card and uses the Microsoft driver, the nvidia driver should not even be listed any more.
