[Cable TV] OMG

I said I was cancelling because I'm cutting back my budget.
They offered me a cheaper price if I signed a 1 year contract.
How do they think that is better?
If they'd offered me a cheaper price and still no contract then I would've considered it.

I tried to send them feedback directly but it tricked me.
I entered what seemed like everything but when I clicked submit, a big form came up saying I had to register.
If I knew I needed to register to leave feedback, I wouldn't have bothered.

here is my story

current cogeco bill

digital cable 61.99
Digital Phone 44.95
Internet 44.95

Total after tax $168.08

Switched to bell
Digital basic tv with HD content 28 (38 after 1st year)
phone with unlimited province 38 (38 after 1st Year
dsl available soon 35

total after tax $114

648 in savings the first year.

I am saving 54 dollars a month (when I finally get DSL) and now have an HD PVR box with my satellite and free HD channels, where cogeco was charging 10 dollars more a month to rent the hd box and 7 for the HD,(which I dropped last year)

I called to cancel the services with cogeco and the best they could give me was free hd for 1 year with a pvr box. I told them 1 year is not good enough as I was getting free hd included for 38 dollars.

They tried to convince me to lower my packages to save money rather then offer me discounts for being a customer for 8 years.

They asked why I was switching and I told them I was not happy with the price gouging and yearly increases as well as the new Cap implementation of overages. I indicated that current 60gigs limits are not enough for my family and if we didn't change our habits we would be paying 30 dollars more each month. I reminded them of the caps in the states being more reasonable at 250gigs, and given the condition of the economy I decided to look at other options.

I love the PVR, never thought I would. but the ability to pause live tv is a cool experience once you have tried it.
