Forum Posting Guidelines

The Earthlink Forum is a place for users to share information, tips, and experience with each other. The following are some guidelines to help us make your stay here as pleasant and productive as possible. These "rules" will help make the Earthlink Forum not only a place to learn from each other, but a place where everyone can feel at home.

On Topic If it's really worth saying, and it's not on the original topic or it's something you want help with, start a new thread of your own. Posting off topic is not productive, is confusing, and should be avoided.

Official Techs The forum is fortunate to have the presence of several techs who do their best to provide help and information to Earthlink customers. While it may be tempting to take your frustration out on them, please remember that they are here to help. Techs abide by the same posting rules as other participants.

Trolling and Flaming When you post something calculated to insult or annoy - when it's personal - when it pertains to the user and not the topic - it won't be here for long. It's always easier to ignore those who try to lure you into a flame-fest, and it makes them look like the troll they are. If necessary, bring it to the attention of a moderator. Please do not flame/troll or feed those who do.

Nonsense Posts Meaningless posts with no worthwhile purpose may well disappear. If you have something worthwhile to add, by all means do so.

Keep it Clean A great many people come to the Earthlink Forum looking for information about Broadband and their Earthlink Service. While humor certainly helps people feel at home, please remember that the Earthlink Forum has participants from a variety of age groups, cultures, and value systems. If you are unsure of whether to post something or not, is probably best not to post it.

Moderator Decisions Moderator decisions are final and should not be discussed publicly in the forum. If you have a question about an action of a Moderator, ask politely by IM. Rude or otherwise abusive IM messages will not make your case. If you still have problems with an action, please contact fatness See Profile.

BBR Rules Please review DSLR rules explained in several locations such as Terms of use , Privacy Policy and Rules of posting.
