I applied this, adds several new things, however, the firewall seems to slow your connection down a bit, so I got it disabled. It also added channel 12 and 13 for me, which I guess means it's for the european version of the router or something.

Using this firmware as well. Seems very similar to 1.41.2 with the cisco layout. VPN has more features, filtering features added for firewall. Website url blocking and keyword blocking added.

Do all euro firmwares have channels 12,13? Is it illegal to use these channels in the americas?

Well its upto you if you want to download it. You can just email linksys for it if you want. I just added the link so people didnt have to email for it.

Yes all euro firmwares have channels 12,13. As for isit illegal to use these channels in the US i dont know.

Also another thing you might want to know is, it seems that I can not use the ping hack with this firmware. The 84mw ping command returns a error message, invalid ip or domain etc.

thanks though i found the difference is in Security, VPN. they have added:

L2TP Passthrough support.

Just to let everyone know, my throughput increased from 18mps (average) to 21mps (average) with the beta firmware.

Well from what i gathered from the dutch support is that they received the 1.41.7 from elsewhere. maybe even the US:)

the only difference from 1.41.7 and 1.41.8 was L2TP Passthrough support.

is anyone wants to check out the US setup pages from 1.41.2 and see what difference there is from 1.41.7 and let us know.
